    The Green County Sheriff’s Office is seeking proposals for Needs Assessment/ Master Planning/ Design Services for the Green County Sheriff’s Office and Jail. Proposals will be accepted through close of business on February 3, 2025, to the Green County Sheriff’s Office, 2827 6th Street, Monroe, Wisconsin 53566.     All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Probation Arrest:
    At 4:10 PM, Deputies responded to the Probation/Parole office, 2841 6th St, Monroe, for a warrant pick up. Brandon L Lohaus, 49, Monroe, was taken into custody without incident, and transported to the Green County Jail by Monroe Police Department.

    The following events occurred on January 6, 2025:

    All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Probation Violation/Arrest:
    At 9:11 AM, Deputies responded to the Probation & Parole Office, 2841 6th Street, to take Nicole J Bleiler, 42, of Monroe, into custody on a P&P hold. Nicole was taken into custody and transported to the Green County Jail.  She was jailed.

    Traffic Violation: 
    At 10:22 AM, Isidoro Garcia Hernandez, 29, Brodhead was stopped for speeding in the N2200 block of CTH K, Town of Clarno.  He was cited for speeding and Operate Without a Valid DL.  He was released pending a court appearance.   

    MVC – Personal Injury:
    At 5:18 PM, GRSO deputies and New Glarus PD responded to a single vehicle crash in the W6400 block of CTH H, Town of New Glarus. Jeanine H Krueger, 62, Monticello, was eastbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle. Jeanine reported wearing a seatbelt, and a possible injury. The vehicle was towed due to disabling front end damage and airbag deployment.

  • Obituary: Tamara R. “Tammy” Miller

    Obituary: Tamara R. “Tammy” Miller

    Tamara R. “Tammy” Miller, age 57, of New Glarus, died on Saturday, January 4, 2025 in Hospice care at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison. Tammy was born on May 5, 1967 in Monroe, the daughter of Dave and Rose (Mau) Rundle. Tammy was a 1985 graduate of Monroe High School before earning a degree in insurance sales.  She married Kenneth Johnson in 1990 and was united  in marriage to Ted Miller on October 24, 2015. She worked as an independent insurance agent for many years before retiring in 2008. Most recently she enjoyed eBay marketing and sales. Tammy had the gift of gab and always enjoyed meeting new people and keeping up with old friends. She also had a passion for music, cooking, gardening, tending to her flowers, family cookouts, and her animals. Tammy was eager to meet her new grandchild due in June. 

    She will be missed by her husband, Ted Miller of New Glarus; sons, Tyler Johnson (Laura) of Edgerton, Dylan Johnson (Meghan) of Verona; step-daughter, Ashlee (Jake) DeHaven of Madison and their daughter, Melody; mother, Rose Rundle of Monroe; and two brothers, Tim (Dianne) Rundle of Brodhead, Troy (Teresa) Rundle of Monroe;  and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father in 1986.

    Private family services will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. Interment will follow Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A memorial fund will be established in Tammy’s name. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net

    The following events occurred on January 4, 2025:

    All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    ACCIDENT-PD
    At 12:45 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH B and Honey Creek Rd., Town of Clarno, for a two vehicle crash with no injuries. Investigation determined a westbound vehicle, operated by Kelsi R.

    Ruchti, 39, of Monroe, was attempting to turn south onto Honey Creek Rd. While waiting to turn, a westbound vehicle, operated by Mariana L. Santamaria-Rayo, 22 of Monroe, could not stop her vehicle in time and collided with Ruchti’s vehicle. Santamaria-Rayo’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and had airbag deployment. Ruchti’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with no airbag deployment. Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts, not being injured and both vehicles were towed. Santamaria-Rayo was cited for Driving too Fast for Conditions and Operating Without a Valid License.

    DOMESTIC ABUSE
    At 4:27 PM, Deputies responded to a residence in the 600 block of E. Lake Ave, Village of Monticello, for a 911 call. As a result of the investigation, Jose Rojas, 32, of Monticello, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct- Domestic and a PO Hold. Rojas was transported to the Green Co. Jail pending an initial court appearance.

    ACCIDENT- PD
    At 7:38 PM, Deputies responded to the N4200 blk of STH 59., Town of Sylvester, for a motor vehicle accident.  Investigation found that a vehicle operated by, Brittany N. Ethridge, 33, of Monroe was traveling east when she reportedly overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle.  The vehicle went into the south ditch overturning and came to rest.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage, had airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Ethridge reported wearing her seatbelt.  Ethridge was cited for failure to keep the vehicle under control and released.

    DRUG/NARC VIOLATION
    At 10:20 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the N7500 block of STH 69, in the Town of New Glarus. The investigation resulted in Antario H. Cain, 24, of Freeport, being cited for Possession of Open Intoxicants in motor vehicle – Driver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
